Cruising to Geiranger, Norway

Geiranger is a village in western Norway, at the head of Geirangerfjord. The Norwegian Fjord Center has multimedia on the history of the region and its inhabitants. Part of the steep Trollstigen mountain road weaves through the village, connecting to Flydalsjuvet lookout, which has views over the fjord. The fjord’s waterfalls, including the Seven Sisters, the Suitor and the Bridal Veil, are visible by boat.

It is an amazing experience to sail through these fjords and although I’ve done it so many times, it never gets boring.

sailing towards Geiranger, you pass the 7-sisters – a group of 7 waterfalls

This is the view from the ship when arriving into Geiranger

and a ferry arriving at the dock – look at the scenery…

walking around is like walking around in a fairy tale:

Close to where to ships anchors, there is this amazing waterfall at Fossevandring. It’s a 5 minute walk from the ship and it is breathtaking. Going to the waterfall is easy and once you get closer, there are fantastic boardwalks.

There are a lot of different hikes and trails but the one that I like the most is the one to Flydalsjuvet viewing point. hiking up the road to the view point, you see some interesting things such as this little church which was build in 1842.

walking over the road to the view points gives some amazing options to take photos

Even from simple things like flowers

From this overlook, it looks like you are in a fairy tale. There are fantastic opportunities to take some cool photos like we did…
