Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, Bora Bora is one of the most exotic places you can imagine. Imagine the Bounty commercials x 5 and voila, welcome to Bora Bora.

To run around Bora Bora is a dream come true. The island has one main road that goes all the way around the island; this makes it very simple to run; keep the ocean on one side, and you can’t get lost.

The ships can’t dock and thus we stay at anchor – to reach the shore, it’s a 10 minute tender ride which is an amazing ride, as you clearly see the blue water and the magnificent tall mountains in the background.

The circumference is only 19.5 miles (31.2 km) and it takes me about 2:40hrs to run around the place. I’ve done this 6 times over the course of 3 years and I never can get enough of it. I’m sure you can figure out why 🙂

After finishing my run, getting a rest in the boat (the tender) that brings me back to the ship.
