The house had too many bedrooms but only one small bathroom. That’s quite standard in Europe, but in this case, the only bathroom is just too small and thus I decided to take one bedroom and convert it into a bathroom.
This is the bedroom that I’m going to convert into bathroom

That’s a big project where I had to do the following things:
Break out the wooden floor and replace with stone tiles
remove the underground heating system and close that large opening (the black grid on the left side of the photo)
Add plumbing: water supply
Install a bathtub, build a casing around it, put water membrane against the wall and tile it, install sink, closet, overhead showerhead etc etc
in the room adjacent, like a room as big as 6 x 4 ft, there was a small shower which didn’t make any sense, so I removed that shower, removed all the plumbing, installed new water supply for a new toilet, so I would have a new bathroom with toilet.
Fast forward:
I’m putting in new tiles – man, those tiles are heavy; they are 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 ft (1m2) per tile and weigh 32 lbs (15 kg). Not an easy task

Fast forward:
Tiles are in, bath tub is installed and part of the casing is done

Fast forward: tiling the wall – as you might notice, I used the same tiles in the kitchen and in the other toilet

same tiles in the kitchen and the other toilet

Fast forward
