Fast forward a week or so.
The contractors have put up the insulation and are now ready to put up the plaster. It really starts to get shape now. As I live in the forest, I decided to go for modern-country and the way it turns out is exactly what I had in mind. I can’t wait to see the result when they are finishing the plaster.

As you can see, the doors and windows are also in; black frames which will look great with the white plaster and the black shutters.
In the meantime, the rubbish is piling up and up

Ron, my colleague from the ship, lives close by and has been helping me out a lot – he is quite the handy man and has been helping me mixing cement, plaster, concrete, cutting steel etc. Super helpful.
We went to the store to pick up the kitchen. I can’t install it yet, as I still need to finish the floor. This is a showroom model which means you get it at 50% rebate but you have to break it down in the store, move it and build it up yourself which it quite the job. But at least we picked it up and now it’s time to finish the floor.
In all the rooms, we disconnected the old heating system so we can close these enormous large, ugly openings in the floor. The new radiators are not in yet, but since the house is now insulated, I can survive a few weeks without heating. And so we started filling up these large holes with building rubbish.

Once they are all filled, I will pour a layer of concrete to level it out….
More to come my friends 🙂
