Hey friends,

it has been a while since my last post but I have been sooo busy that I just didn’t allow myself to start posting but now finally after weeks of working, I had to start updating 🙂

So, as you might know, last year I bought a house in the forest. A house, so beautifully located, but, it was build in the 70’s and nothing had been done since….so time for another renovation project.

This renovation is bigger than any project I’ve done so far and I gave myself 2 years. I would love to do it faster, but, having done a few renovations, it is realistic to plan for 2 years.

So what needs to be done?

  • The massive chimney on the roof needs to be removed
  • The fireplace inside needs to be removed
  • We need to insolate the outside of the house with 9 inch insolation panels
  • Than we need to plaster the insolation panels
  • We need to replace all the windows and all the doors from single glass to triple glass. The windows are anthracite from the outside so we will need to spray paint the shutters in the same color
  • We need to replace all the water pipes
  • We need to replace the entire heating system since the current system is crap; back in the days it was popular to have convector heating which means roasters in the floor but these things are such dust collectors that we will change the entire system to regular above-ground heating
  • We need to insolate the roof
  • I am breaking down one of the bearing walls to make an open kitchen which means installing steal beams
  • One bedroom will be converted to a bathroom which means installing water, bath tub, sinks etc
  • All the toilets need to be replaced and retiled
  • The original bathroom will need to be retiled, new sinks, new bath
  • The floor in the kitchen which will now be an open kitchen needs a complete new layer of cement and new tiles
  • Than we need to install a new kitchen
  • The terrace needs to be torn down and rebuild

In other words, tons and tons of work

I will update you with the progress over the next several days so stay tuned 🙂
